Ximending Night Market
A little late post, this was last Sunday night where we went shopping-by-accident in Ximending Night Market. We did our laundry first (which by the way was so easy...everything is automatic) then had dinner first. We wanted to try something different from the usual place we go to afterwhich, to burn what we ate Mayi and I decided to walk along Ximending and just "look around." The night market is around 10 minute walk away from our hotel and is really accessible. We have been there already a couple of times but I felt that I haven't really explored every nook and cranny of the place...and so we did. ;)
This is the Ximending Square (...their version of Times Square NY) Small...but is surrounded with bright lights. Traffic of vehicles and people are everywhere. It is a fun place to see.
People crossing the street, some would be going to the MRT, some to Ximending Night Market. Truly accessible to anyone, anywhere.
I am not really sure what is inside this building...yet. Will need to find time to explore this. This is just across Ximending.
What I wore that night: Blue Tank Top, Black Short Pants, Deconstructed Chucks, Black Cocktail Rings, Brooch, Camel Satchel Bag and Bowler Hat. Check more photos here.
In our room...before having our dinner. Just goofing around with the "peace sign" ala anime...
This is where we had our dinner...established since 1945. I am not sure how do you read this but their ramen noodles is quite good.
(L-R) Mayi and me. I still can't get enough and still feeling like a tourist.
(L-R) Z and Nikki
This freaked me out...big time. On the menu, you can order "Near close Mouse meat..." I hope it is not the real thing and I am pretty sure it is not...
My dinner...shrimp ball noodle or something
Pork on sweet asado sauce with shaved ginger....yum
Veggies on the side
Yehey...shopping time!!! ...ooops I mean "Just-to-look-around..."
I just realized just now...look at the sign, the person is really really happy with shopping with 2 shopping bags on his hands
Please bring fans... it tends to be really humid here specially in crowded areas. It is best to keep safe
Hand-made Key Chains...really cute
View of the inside of Ximending Night Market. More organized compared to Shilin, lots of places to shop, eat and rest
Lots of huge screens for ads...
Sales lady calling attention and maybe announcing special promo for their store. This is very common in Taipei...some that I have seen have megaphones and shouting all night long standing on high chair for more visibility.
Clean night market streets
...many many hat stores. A little expensive and most of the style we already have in Manila. I haven't bought any hats yet. I am still looking for the one unique and special piece for me. ;)
My favorite place and Shoe Monsters "haven" ....Shoes in the night market are really affordable...starting from NT$290-1000 and above. I already bought 2...pics below. ;) I am so happy, I will buy more....Just talking about it right now makes my mouth water...hehe
I thought I was the only one in love with Satchel Bag..apparently whole of Taipei is. They have a huge range of bags here. A little expensive but worth it.
Street performers are very common here. They have students performing a dance to a more acrobatic feat like these couple.
Street food!!!! Look at those bright colored chilled fruits. Very delish on a humid evening.
Grilled corn like ours
...and of course Shawarma. The only difference is, it is not wrapped in pita bread but is used for a sandwich
...and now for the best part. This is a huge reason why I wanted to go to Taipei....SHOPPING. The 1st bag I bought is this 2-in-1 Black Leather Satchel Bag. I was thinking if I have too many Satchels...however when I saw that this is 2-in-1, I fell in love. (Above) is one side...((below) is the opposite side)
...nope this is not another bag. This is the same (opposite side) of the Satchel Bag. NOTE: Both sides are functional
My new Oxfords. Camel...very lovely. I have already worn it to the office. The size is just the exact size and my right foot only have enough room. A little painful if you ar going to wear for a whole day shopping.
My new ultimate Love: MAN-DALS or what I call "Naruto Shoes." I already have one pair at home but I feel I need to get more. This is authentic leather and fits just perfectly. I can't wait to wear it this weekend.
It is now the last day of the work week...and I am so excited for the weekends again and turning ON my tourist mode. We have already planned our weekend, visiting Taipei 101 and other night markets. Or if not, I can always go back to Ximending Night Market.
I was thinking..."How fun would it be, if my house is near a night market like Ximending....HEAVEN!!!"
I will see you guys real soon and I am pretty sure that I would have tons and tons of photos to upload here. Have a great weekend everyone.
WORK HARD- PARTY EVEN HARDER!!!!
Ciao!!!
