Shilin Night Market

Everytime I go out of the country I always make sure to invade their Night Market or Weekend market. It is one place I can go as crazy as I can with the right price and perfect style. My trip here to Taiwan has been longed plan. Last March, we already bought tickets and was supposed to celebrate my birthday and enjoy much deserved vacation here but was canceled due to some reasons...I thought I will not be able to go here anymore and use the long research on wonderful shopping places here...or so I thought. Till I got this offer to train here.

I was drooling from the very moment we landed and I just can't wait to go to their night markets. First stop was Shilin Night market. Very famous among Taiwanese and foreign shopaholics alike. It is only 6-7 MRT stations away from our hotel. I wore something really really comfortable as I know weather here can go crazy.

Sharing my adventure to Shopaholic Monsters everywhere just any case you came by Shilin. ;)

I have brought a lot of tank tops with me since I know that it is summer time in Taipei and it I will be crazy hot and humid. This is what I wore for I thought will be the ultimate experience.

Just being a tourist...hehe. Just lounging in the hotel's lobby Piano room. Together with Mayi in this photo.

My very own MRT Prepaid Card. In just one weeks time, I have learned to love using public transportation here in Taipei.
Picture
The MRT map. They have different MRT lines that interconnect with each other. Our station of origin is Ximen. you will see it is number 20. Then we will change MRT line from blue to red, then go down Shilin station...very convenient right???

Us falling in line for our MRT ride in Taipei Main Station (blue) which is probably one of the most busiest part of the MRT. Yup, people do fall in line and wait for thier turn to ride the MRT, not shoving and pushing their way in...so refreshing.

Haha...I so love this shot (This is my version of the famous Anne Curtis shot riding in MRT to be on time Kylie Concert) . When I first ride their MRT, I knew I wanted to have my photo taken inside. In Manila, I am so scared to take our MRT with all the horrifying stories I am hearing. Here in Taipei, as you see in this photo, riding on rush hour and a Saturday afternoon yet there is plenty of room and space to breathe....how I wish our MRT is like this and I would definitely love public transport. ;)

The Anne Curtis shot... ;)

Z smelling something awful??? Hehehe, unfortunately easy public transportaion, there would still be a couple of people who doesn't exactly smell good...if you know what I mean.

Yahoo...arrived at Shilin Night Market...damn it was so humid. Just kept on smiling

Human traffic at the night market...a little scary since you may get lost the busy streets.

Lots and lots of foodstalls, more on fingerfoods. No time to sit around and let the merchandise wait for you. As for me, never got distracted by the sumptous food- Main Concentration: SHOPPING!!!
Picture
pastry...looks really yummy!!!!
Picture
There was a very long line for this food stall, as we have investigated it is for this one huge deep fried chicken. Nikki bought one

Just one of the million things you can buy...semi-precious stones

Golden Statues, looks enchanting and well crafted

Took this shot just in case we would need to show the cab driver...so as to avoid miscommunication. Which by the way I actually used on our way home.

Winner Photo of the night. If we have "Wag Tutularan..." definitely Taipei also have their very own. ;)

Blogger at work (Chos...) We never got a chance to explore the entire Shilin Market. We got lost on our way and found ourselves from our starting point in Shilin and just decided to go home. We were also worried that MRT would close on us. Shilin's merchandise are repetitive in most stores, prices are not competetive so I had a difficult time finding the right purchase for me. Lucky for me, I found authentic black Leather Satchel bag which is 2-in-1, I will post its picture soon.

We will come back to Shilin and check the other side. Maybe, there are better stores there and would have more luck.

Coming soon is my adventure with Ximending Night Market which I was able to buy what I really really wanted and I am so excited to wear.

Today is just Monday and has 4 more days of work to go. Definitely I can't wait for the weekends again and explore more of their night markets.

See you really soon.

Kisses and Ciao ;)
