London Fashion Week
Spring Summer 2012
September 21, from the recently concluded London Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2012 here are some of my Top Picks and design for ladieswear and menswear. London Fashion is a fusion of sophistication and underground fashion and has reputable and world class designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith and some labels that we do adore and also has a flagship here in Manila such as Topman.
Ladies Spring/Summer looks plays around "Androgynous Fashion" , loud yet sophisticated prints and the use of jewel tones for most of the collection. Men's Spring/Summer look brings back the nostalgic "short-shorts" from the 80's yet this time it is less casual and has more of a tailored fit and normally would be paired up with a nice coat or blazer.

Paul Smith
"Andorgynous Fashion" screams on his Spring/Summer collection. I love the over-all styling of the collection from the all-messed-up hair styling, to the semi-loose fit of the ensemble to round lens shades to the top hat. Whoever said that you can't feel sexy in Men's Fashion.
I love the crop-pants that can be worn with a nice pair of loafers or with some strapy sandals
The use of jewel tone fabrics for that feminine and softer appeal.
I so love the White Top and Black Pants combo (middle) It feels so relaxed and easy.
I love the splash of color. Who ever said that Color Blocking is out of season already. I would say, Color Blocking would stay forever and I adore it.
Jaeger London
"Amish" fashion is such a big trend nowadays and this is Jaeger London's take on this style. It is not your usual black and white Amish Fashion, he made sure to incorporate colors into his collection. The use of luxurious fabrics made his collection even more sophisticated.
I so love the wide-rimmed hats and I myself already have more than a pair of same hats that I am so excited to use during our very own Philippine Fashion Week.
Colors and exquisite fabrics dominated the runway.
Julien MacDonald
For Julien MacDonald Spring/Summer look, it is more for that edgy girl who wants to stand-out from the crowd.
The evening gown that Julien MacDonald created is truly spectacular and is a work-of-art
House of Holland
House of Holland played around Print on Print with Earth colors for their Spring/Summer 2012 collection. I love the faux Leopard Print in jewel tones which feels sexy and flirty.
(Left) Snake on snake pattern. If you want to unleash your wild side. :D
Meadham Kirchhoff
Very reminiscent of the classic Betsey Johnson aesthetic. Meadham Kirchhoff designed a very quirky and colorful collection. His inspiration is a "young girl playing dress up with Mommy's make-up and clothes"
Sometimes Fashion is all about having fun and dressing up.
Topman
Affordable brand Topman has designed their Spring/Summer 2012 collection with double-breasted jackets, cropped pants and shorts and using soft color palette. "Street Dapper" is their inspiration which is so right within my avenue and I am just simply smitten with their collection.
Double-breasted coats and cropped pants, perfect tailoring and fit. Definitely would want to have them.
I think this is the first time that I have seen Topman use paisley prints on their collection. Very reminiscent of Prada or Versace.
Hardy Aimes
Bringing the "short-shorts" back yet styling it to a very different level. More of the tailored side and paired with luxurious looking coats, vest and sweaters. All I can say is, "Love...love...love"
Jeweled tone short pants to break the monotonous gray tone.
James Long
I love the use of prints/ pattern by James Long for his Spring/Summer Collection 2012.
Hope everyone enjoyed London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 as much as I do. Good that there are affordable brands for us like Topman, Paul Smith etc, if not just pull-out an inspiration from your favorite designer.
Next stop...Milan Fashion Week. I can't wait to showcase works of my favorite Italian Designers with their very "Avant Garde" aesthetic.
Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!!!!!
